WQAM Beatles Tour Coverage
From The Miami Herald
STATIONS WFUN and WQAM are letting no Beatle crawl under their feet unnoticed. WFUN has its man Larry Kane, and WQAM, two. borrowed emissaries, aboard the mopheads' chartered tour plane.
Everywhere the Beatles go on their month-long tour of this country and Canada so go Kane and "Long John" Wade. lent to WQAM by WDRC in Hartford Conn., assisted by Jack Powers, former newsman with New Orleans' WTIX, a sister station of WQAM.
Both stations are broadcasting periodic reports from the Beatle jaunt. I might add here that the plane will not be flying into this area. The closest it will touch down is Jacksonville.
