Conrail’s last day
Transcript:
Right before midnight someone in yard says:
"Conrail is officially extinct. Goodbye Conrail."
Someone says:
"That's a 10-4 roger."
Youngstown Line Dispatcher says:
"Good axle count. uh, this will be your final Conrail Youngstown Line Out."
A second later at midnight the Youngstown Line Dispatcher uses his new call:
"NS Youngstown Line out..."
And that was that. The end of my (still) favorite railroad. Tears still come to my eyes everytime I hear that.
